24.6.22

Having spent the previous two weeks learning about protecting the Earth's oceans, we have now moved on to exploring the Solar system and the planets within it. We began the week with the story of Astro Girl, a book all about a little girl who wants to become an astronaut just like her mummy.

We then moved on to learning about what it would be like to be an astronaut and we watched some of the footage of Sir Tim Peake trying to move around in space and brush his teeth! One of our writing tasks this week was to list ten things you would take to space - teddies were a popular choice!

For homework this week we would like you to try to download the 'School Jam' app and explore the interactive math activities on there. The children have their own unique log on which will be in their book bags this week.

You will also find in their book bags a cross. This is because Y6 are working towards achieving the CAFOD live simply award and would like you to make a simple pledge to support us. Please return these back into school to form a display.

Thank you
