We have been learning to use the language of size using real life objects that are large and small in relation to each other.  Begin with objects that are vastly larger/smaller than each other and move onto objects with a smaller difference in size.   Question your child "Do you think this large tree would fit into a small box?"

We have been listening to sounds in words by using Fred Talk in our phonics lessons. Speaking like Fred helps children to understand that words are made up of sounds. At home use Fred Talk throughout the day to help children practise blending sounds together.
