Year 2

Welcome to Year 2's Class Page

Miss Evans, Ms Mair and Mrs Ashby

Welcome to the Pentecost Term!

Year 2's Pentecost Term Vehicle will be 'Ready, Steady, Grow!’

This Vehicle will encourage curiosity and responsibility. Children will be learning all about the parts of a plant and what they do in their Science lessons this term. Children will spend lots of their science lessons outside this term as the weather gets better, to take advantage of the Prayer Garden and the field's variety of plants.  They will be taking ownership of their own learning and experimenting by planting seeds and growing plants ready to sell at our Strawberry Fayre this summer!

As always if you wish to discuss any aspect of the Year 2 curriculum or any issues regarding your child please contact the school office to arrange an appointment either by phone or email office@st-annes-weepingcross.staffs.sch.uk.

Please check back weekly to see what Year 2 have been up to as they love to share their learning journey!

Our Class Saint - Saint Lucy

This year, we were given the choice of three Saints to choose from. We learnt some information about all three and then held a vote to decide as a class.

We chose Saint Lucy to be our class Saint. This is because we liked her values and her story into Sainthood. Saint Lucy was born into a wealthy family during a time when being Catholic wasn't allowed. Despite this, Lucy remained true to her faith and continued practicing her religion in secret. She helped the poor and needy by giving them money and food. She is patron saint of the blind - which symbolises her caring and compassionate nature. As a class, we agreed that the take away message form her story was that God will always be with us and that he will always help us do the right thing even when we are being told it is not the right thing by others.
