11.11.22

This week in reception we have continued thinking about people who help us, focussing this week on vets.  The children helped to create a role play veterinary centre which they have enjoyed using.

In maths, the children started thinking about 1 more and 1 less and embedded their learning on 2D shapes.

During their welly Wednesday walk, the children enjoyed finding different leaves and comparing their size to find the biggest leaf they could.  They also made bird feeders to feed the birds as it gets colder.

The children have also been learning which season their birthday falls in and learning the 12 months of the year.

Finally, we finished our week thinking about Remembrance and taking part in a short silence to mark this occasion.

Homework

For homework this week, please continue to practise the months of the year and talk to your child about when their birthday is.  You may wish to use the song below (follow link).

Following on from our work on Remembrance you may wish to talk about this further at home and your child might like to write a short prayer linked to this.  Please upload anything your child does onto Tapestry.

Your child will also have come home with their new reading book or ditty sheet and book to share at home.
