Summer Curriculum

Welcome to Summer term! We have a very exciting term ahead and Mrs Potts and I are really looking forward to sharing your learning journey with you.

Our Summer Term Curriculum Vehicle is 'Our Gardening Adventure'.

Throughout our gardening adventure, we will be carrying out group investigations to explore and observe changes in plants over time and how different factors have an impact on growth. We will be spending time in our school prayer garden to reflect on gardening gratitude and our thankfulness to God and His creations. To embrace our love for the outdoors, we will discover how our shadows change throughout the day. We will even look at how fruits and vegetables are grown and will get to design our own tart recipe using seasonal ingredients. Look forward to our upcoming taster session!

Year 3 have thoroughly enjoyed their First Holy Communion Retreat Day at Alton Castle! From ‘crazy castles’ to ‘rockin’ ruins’, they were able to experience team building games, meditation and a tricky treasure hunt! They have started to prepare for their First Holy Communion through reflection and prayer whilst thinking carefully about the Last Supper and how they would have felt to be sharing a meal with Jesus. They are now feeling very thankful for what Jesus has done for us.

Some fantastic projects brought in by Year 3 based on the Royal Family and The Commonwealth.

Year 3 have enjoyed playing and learning about Samba in their music lessons!

Our shadow investigation! We found out that the closer the light source is to the object, the longer the shadow.

Year 3 enjoyed their parent workshop yesterday, designing and preparing seasonal tarts. They now know how to safely follow a recipe when cooking.
