Welcome back to the Year 5 summer term! We have a very exciting term ahead and Mrs Bundy and I are really looking forward to continuing this learning journey with you!

Our Summer Term Curriculum Vehicle is 'Staffordshire Police Junior Cadets'.

This Summer term, Year 5 are going to take part in the Staffordshire Police Cadets programme. We will take part in 6 sessions and then will be graduating as Staffordshire Police Junior Cadets! As a Cadet, you will get a unique opportunity to learn more about your local police force whilst working with local communities on exciting projects to improve your local area. Join today if you are looking for a new exciting challenge, or for your first step on the path to becoming a Police Officer.

Class reminders:

School starts at 8.40 with our first lesson starting promptly at 8.45. Year 5 finish at 3.20 pm
PE will be on Tuesdays and Fridays and children should come to school wearing PE kit on these days
Pupils will arrive in the morning and line up by the double gates leading through to the field. At the end of the day pupils can be collected by the double gates next to the staff carpark gate.

In PSHE lessons this year, pupils will be learning about puberty and the changes which occur within the body. If any pupils feel uncomfortable about this topic, then they are encouraged to speak to a member of staff about their queries and concerns. Equally, if parents and pupils would like to seek additional information or address any misconceptions then the NHS website is an excellent resource.
