Welcome to Year 5's Class Page Spring 2022

Welcome back to the Year 5 spring term! We have a very exciting term ahead and Mrs Bundy and I are really looking forward to continuing this learning journey with you! 

 

Our Spring Term Curriculum Vehicle is 'Dirt is Good'.

 

Year 5 to undergo 3 projects to care for the ecology of their school, their local area and an area of particular interest. This project will empower Year 5 by providing them with challenges, tools and ideas to take action to help have a positive impact in their local communities and on the planet. This project will also have an impact on has a positive impact on young people’s wellbeing.

 

 

Class reminders:

  • School starts at 8.40 with our first lesson starting promptly at 8.45. Year 5 finish at 3.20 pm
  • PE will be on Tuesdays and Fridays and children should come to school wearing PE kit on these days
  • Pupils will arrive in the morning and line up by the double gates leading through to the field. At the end of the day pupils can be collected by the double gates next to the staff carpark gate.

  • In PSHE lessons this year, pupils will be learning about puberty and the changes which occur within the body. If any pupils feel uncomfortable about this topic, then they are encouraged to speak to a member of staff about their queries and concerns. Equally, if parents and pupils would like to seek additional information or address any misconceptions then the NHS website is an excellent resource.  'Talking to your children (years 5 & 6) about puberty: Children and Family Health Surrey (childrenshealthsurrey.nhs.uk)'
