23.9.22

This week in maths we have continued to develop our understanding of numbers to 5. We have been learning to read and write p, i , n, g and o. We will be able to start using these to develop our word reading and writing skills. We continue with our topic focus - 'It's good to be me' and we have been looking at houses and homes. The children found out the names of different types of homes - detached, semi-detached, bungalow, terraced, flat etc and talked about which type of house they thought they lived in. Through our RE we have been learning about the story of Creation and enjoyed our Welly Wednesday when we focussed on all the things we could see that God had created.

NB - We have had a few technical issues with tapestry but we will add photographs of our learning as soon as we can.

For homework this week -

Your child will bring home a class library book, this is for you to share as a bedtime story book. There is no expectation for your child to be reading this but please talk about the story and allow your child to join in with aspects of it - character voices etc.

There will be two handwriting sheets this week, these show how we are teaching letter formation and are there for you to support your child with this at home. Please encourage your child to write freely as much as possible.

To support the work we have done on houses please discuss with your child the type of house you live in and go for a walk to spot other types of houses.
