Summer Curriculum

Our Summer Term Curriculum Vehicle is 'Junior Cadets'.

This Summer term, Year 5 are going to take part in the Staffordshire Police Cadets programme. We will take part in 6 sessions and then will be graduating as Staffordshire Police Junior Cadets! As a Cadet, pupils will get a unique opportunity to learn more about your local police force whilst working with local communities on exciting projects to improve their local area. Pupils will join this new exciting challenge and will take the first step on the path to becoming a Police Officer.

21st April 2023 - NSPCC

NSPCC came into Year 5 to deliver the Speak out. Stay safe. programme in Year 5. We discussed speaking out and staying safe online, as well as different forms of abuse and what to do if anyone was in danger. We also came up with a dance to remember the Childline number!

1st May 2023 - Art lesson (Jean-Michel Basquiat)  

Year 5 have been exploring their new artist for this term Jean-Michel Basquiat. Year 5 have been exploring the expressionism in his work and have begun creating their own artwork in the style of Basquiat. The results looked incredible!

5th May 2023 - PE Lesson (Tennis and Rounders) 

During Summer 1, Year 5 will be developing their skills in both Rounders and Tennis. Whether pupils have any previous experience of playing these sports or not, all pupils are enjoying learning more about these sports!

8th May 2023 - Alton Towers 

Year 5 were given an amazing opportunity as they were given exclusive access to the behind the scenes at Alton Towers. Discovering the security system at the towers along with the medical procedures and practices in place. After which we went on some of the rides!
