20.5.22

In school we have started talking about the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.  We have learnt that Queen Elizabeth has been Queen for 70 years making her the longest reigning monarch.  This week we read Paddington at the Palace and learnt that one of the Queen's houses is called Buckingham Palace.

In maths we have been continuing to practise counting backwards from numbers up to 20 and we have also been challenging ourselves to see which number we can get to counting forwards in ones.  This week the children amazed themselves when they were able to count up to 100 as a class!

On Friday we celebrated World Bee Day with lots of bee themed challenges.

HOMEWORK

Practise counting forwards in ones.  Which number can you count up to?  Can you choose a number between 10 and 20 and write the next 5 numbers?

Talk about London or the Queen at home.  Draw or write about either a London landmark or Queen Elizabeth II.

Read your child's reading book at home at least 3 times during the week.

Thank you for your continued support,

Reception Team.
