Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11

A message from Mr Bell, CEO, The Painsley Catholic Academy:

On behalf of the Directors, governors and staff of the Painsley Catholic Academy, I write to express our deep sorrow at the passing of Her Late Majesty The Queen.

During this half-term, as an academy, we are focusing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the dignity of the human person from conception until the end of our natural life on earth.  There is no doubt that The Late Queen used God’s gift of her life to serve others.  She displayed such great service, dignity and respect for us all.  On 21 April 1947, on her twenty-first birthday, Princess Elizabeth said, ‘I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service.’  There is no doubt that she fulfilled and surpassed this promise.

In her Millennium Christmas message, she said, ‘To many of us, our beliefs are of fundamental importance. For me the teachings of Christ and my own personal accountability before God provide a framework in which I try to lead my life. I, like so many of you, have drawn great comfort in difficult times from Christ’s words and example.’

We pray for the repose of the soul of Her Majesty.

We pray for His Majesty the King and the whole of the Royal Family at this sad time.

God save the King.
