Young voices 2026
Some members of our class travelled to Birmingham with Miss Evans and Mrs Hampton to join the World’s Largest Children’s Choir today. They sang a range of songs and learnt some dance moves to go with them! If you would like to take part in something wonderful and fun like this, join choir next year!!
Mother languages week
To celebrate mother languages week, some children spoke to the class today about their home languages and the countries their family come from. We were amazed to find out we have 10 different languages in our classroom alone! Thank you so much to Gabriele, Ayat, Joseph, Amber, Filip and Nicholas for sharing with the class.
Insulator or conductor? 💡
Today, children used simple circuits to test wither every day objects were insulators on conductors. First, they found out what an insulator and conductor were, and then they set off investigating. They found that metal was a good conductor, and that most other materials were insulators. They had an interesting discussion about painted metal as the radiators did not conduct electricity, they decided that was due to the amount of paint covering the metal.
Multiplication learn with me
A big thank you to the grown ups that joined us today for our learn with me session! The children really enjoyed showing off their times table knowledge! Thanks to your feedback, we now have a battle set up between boys and girls - who will win? 🎸
Writing newspaper articles in computing 💻
The children had a great time in computing today, finishing off their newspaper articles. They have been learning about writing for a range of purposes and how to change the formatting of text on the computers. They have experimented with the colour, size and style of text to engage the reader.
Sticky structures 🍬
Our DT unit started with a very hands-on lesson today, building structures out of marshmallows and cocktail sticks. Children were experimenting with different 3D shapes to determine which shape they might use in the design of their pavilion. They researched the history of the World Expos and the detail of their pavilions and used this to influence the shapes they trialled today.
