Our Curriculum in Action
Our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils visited the Baswich War Memorial to mark Remembrance Day with deep reverence and faith. Together, they led a beautiful and moving prayer service for our school and the wider community, honouring all those who sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom.
Through Scripture, reflective silence, and heartfelt prayers, the children reminded us of Christ’s call to be peacemakers. This experience also supported their PSHE learning, helping them reflect on themes such as respect, responsibility, empathy, and the importance of community. By understanding the impact of conflict and the value of peace, they grew not only in faith but also in their awareness of the world and their role within it.
On Monday 10th October, all our pupils (and staff!) came to school wearing odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique and special.
It was all about celebrating individuality, kindness and respect. We filled our classrooms with colour and positivity to start Anti-Bullying Week off with a smile!

On the 11th February, St Anne's focussed on Safer Internet Day by joining in with a live lesson from the BBC. The theme this year was 'Too good to be true?' which was based around protecting themselves and others from scams online. The children learnt what a scam was and how they can spot signs of a scam online.

St Anne's celebrated Children's Mental Health week which had a theme of 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself'. All of the classes completed some work based around this and how it was important to get to know yourself so that they can build resilience, grow and develop.

Between the 11th and 15th November, St Anne's raised awareness of Anti-Bullying week, which had a theme of 'Choose Respect'. We took part in Odd Sock day which focussed on celebrating what makes us all unique.

To commemorate Remembrance day in November, the whole school gathered together to remember the lives of those people, who not only fought for our country, but also loved ones we want to remember during this special time.

Linking to our Catholic Social Teaching of Human Dignity, we came together as a school community to collect items of food that could be donated as part of our Harvest service to The House of Bread.
