Conservation with Reception Class
Reception Class have been getting up to all sorts of fun activities over the past couple of weeks, all in aid of their current curriculum vehicle - 'Nature Conservation'. They have been working hard adapting our prayer garden into a conservation area to support our local wildlife.
First of all they pulled on their wellies and went off collecting wood to make their very own hibernaculum. Afterwards, they then 'sited' their hibernaculum in the perfect place, ready for it's new residents to have a warm and cozy home over the coming winter months.
The children then spent time making and putting up some nut free fir-cone bird feeders to make sure the birds are well fed and have some tasty treats to snack on! They also made some lovely leaf art in the style of Andrew Goldsworthy - look at those lovely autumnal colours...
