Diwali Day in Nursery!
Wed 23 Oct 2019Nursery children celebrated Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Light today. They came to school dressed in bright clothes and created Diyas, small clay candle holders which are a traditional way to celebrate Diwali. The candles are lit and placed in groups outside the home or workplace. The children also created Rangoli patterns using coloured rice. Rangoli are believed to bring good luck to wherever they are placed. -
Year 6 try out Firework Making at BWH!
Wed 23 Oct 2019Year 6 children took part in a Firework Making Science lesson at Blessed William Howard today. They experimented with different chemicals to change the colours of the fireworks! -
Nursery's Stay and Play
Wed 23 Oct 2019Nursery parents visited for ‘Stay and Play’ this week and and watched the children working on their ‘All About Me’ vehicle! -
Nursery write Postcards!
Wed 23 Oct 2019Nursery had a special visitor today. Postman Anthony came to collect the postcards the children wrote last week. Keep your eyes on the letterbox. 📬 -
Year 6 Go Cycling
Mon 21 Oct 2019Today children in Year 6 had a go at cycling as part of their P.E lesson where they worked on developing their off-road skills and then took part in a race!🚲💨 -
Year 5 have been making bath bombs!
Mon 21 Oct 2019Year 5 have been busy perfecting the best recipe to make bath bombs. This ties in with their science topic which is all about dissolving and reversible/irreversible reactions. You can purchase their bath bombs at the PTFA Christmas Fair in November.Â

Year 4 and 5 Gifted & Talented Science Day at Blessed William Howard
Fri 18 Oct 2019Several of our Year 4 & 5 children were chosen to visit BWH for their Physics Booster Day today. They were involved in various workshops throughout the day and were delighted with their 'Great Physicist Awards'. -
Year 5 Reporting on Gorillas!
Thu 17 Oct 2019Year 5 have planned, drafted, edited and finally published their non-chronological reports about 'gorillas'. The result is a stunning set of books which our budding authors can be very proud of - no monkeying around here! (Excuse the pun! 😂) -
Reception Class visit St Anne's Church for the first time!
Thu 17 Oct 2019Today Reception Class visited St. Anne's Church for the first time in preparation to join the whole school in Mass tomorrow morning! As always parents are more than welcome to join us - Mass will begin at 9.15am tomorrow. -
Reception Class' Forest School
Thu 17 Oct 2019Today in 'Forest School' with Mrs Jones, Reception Class spotted hazards in the environment and made some lovely forest art pictures on the ground! Then Mrs Jones read the class a wonderful story which was kindly donated to us by Lily-Mai!
