Wednesday 6th May
Morning! Just a quick note - me and Ms Mair will start our weekly calls today, so if you get an unknown caller, you'll know who it is! Have a great day
I've set Chapter 2 of "Ned and the Detectives" as a 2Do for you as a continuation of our guided reading from last week. I know access to the book seemed to disappear last week, I'll have a look and try to make sure that doesn't happen this time! Encourage your child to take their time and ask plenty of questions to ensure that they can discuss what they are reading. Here, the focus is not just on the skill of reading, but making sure that they understand what they are reading! Then, there are three short activities for you to complete based around the chapter:
- A short quiz about the text
- Some activities about the text for you to complete (attached below)
Maths - Ordinal Numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.)
I've attached a link to BBC Bitesize where you can recap your child's understanding of ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.) - it sounds simple but is made more confusing for them by the fact that we don't say "onest", "twost" etc... Don't worry, they'll get it - repetition is the key!
There is a video lesson for them to watch as well as a PowerPoint to go through, before completing the worksheets.
To complete our learning on weather and seasonal change, I would like you to watch the videos and complete the links on the website below! Then, I have set a 2Do for you on Purple Mash. You need to make an online leaflet all about weather and the seasons! There's lots of options for you to change the design and add lots of pictures, so I'm excited to see what you create to show me what you have learnt Don't forget to save your work so I can see what you make!
