This follows on from the work set yesterday. Pupils complete tally charts grouping tallies in fives (they learnt this last week). They then draw their own pictograms using a symbol to represent 1, 2 and 5 objects.
Use the 'Question Time' and 'Perfect Picture' prompt questions to think about the picture. Then read the 'Story Starter' and continue the story.

Create a symmetrical butterfly. Fold your paper in half to begin. You can either colour a pattern on one half and then colour the reflection on the other half or paint a pattern on one half and fold the paper over to print the reflection. You could even collage a symmetrical butterfly using things you have at home if you wanted to.
