- Log into Oxford Owl (free) and listen to an audio book.

RE
Prayer and the Easter Candle
Show a picture of the Easter candle to your child.
Explain that it lives in church and is different from other candles.
Tell your child it is a special candle for Easter, a sign of celebration and a
reminder that Jesus came alive and is the light of our world.
Activity: Can your child draw, paint/decorate a picture of an Easter candle?
Prayer: I have included four of our daily prayers that the children say in school.
Enjoy sharing these prayers together as a family.
You could light a candle in your house when you pray together. This is familiar to the children as it is something that we do in class on a daily basis when we say these prayers.
Morning Prayer Father in heaven, you love me, you are with me night and day. I want to love you always in all I do and say. I’ll try to please you Father bless me through the day Amen |
Prayer at the end of the day God our Father, we come to say Thank you for your love today. Thank you for my family and all the friends you give to me. Guard me in the dark of night and in the morning send your light Amen
|
Before Dinner Prayer Bless us O God as we sit together, Bless the food we eat today, Bless the hands that made the food, Bless us O God Amen |
After Dinner Prayer Thank you God for the food we have eaten, thank you God for all our friends, Thank you God for everything, thank you God Amen
