Yesterday we looked at the first pages of Traction Man and the children made some excellent predictions for what might happen in the story.  Use the Powerpoint to think about the letter on the title page and the features and purpose of letter writing.  The Powerpoint then takes you on to reading the next part of the story and revising noun phrases.  The children will need paper to record noun phrases they find in the story and their own noun phrases.

Later this week, the children will be planning and writing their own letters in character as Traction Man.  They could then use their letter writing skills to write letters to friends or family to keep in touch throughout the lockdown.

 

Maths

We are coming to the end of our learning on multiplication and beginning to start division.  Today's lesson is about grouping in equal groups in preparation for dividing.  There is a link to a video which you may wish to work through with your children and an activity sheet.  They can then further their learning by finding things at home to group into 2s, 5s and 10s.
