Thursday 21st May

Good morning, I hope you all had a lovely time in the sunshine yesterday. Fingers crossed for more nice weather today! smiley

English

Great work yesterday comparing Ug's world to our own. Today I would like you to close your eyes and imagine going back in time, you are now living in the Stone Age! If you need some inspiration, look back at the pictures in the book so far or you could watch the 'What was it like to live in the Stone Age?' video from our history lesson last week. Send me a postcard from your adventure, drawing and writing what you can see in the past and explain what you think of it. What can you see, hear, smell, touch and taste? How do you feel? What do you like and dislike? You can use either the printable template or the Purple Mash online postcard template that I've set on your 2Do's (don’t forget the picture on the back). I'm very excited to receive all of my mail smiley

Maths

Today we are learning about 12 hour and 24 hour clocks. On a 24 hour clock you don't need an am or pm. An easy rule to remember is to add 12 to the hour, e.g. 2:15pm on a 12 hour clock becomes 14:15 on a 24 hour clock. To help you learn I have linked a website which has a video and some interactive activities so you can practise first. Then, log on to Purple Mash and check your 2Do's for a 12 and 24 hr quiz (read carefully if it says am or pm - I had a practise and made some silly mistakes) and then complete the worksheet.

PE

Joe Wicks Live PE lesson's are on www.youtube.com every day from 9am.

Foundation

Science - Do you know how soil is formed? What is soil? What is soil made from? Read the PowerPoint to find out more then follow the instructions to make your own mini compost bin. I don't expect this to be done in one day (unless you're a gardening expert) so feel free to continue this project into the half term holidays. I'd love to see some pictures when you have finished!
