Spring Term
Week beginning 25/01/21 We had snow!!!☃️🌨❄️ We had so much fun building a snowman and throwing snowballs!! There was some strange footprints in the snow, so we followed them and then tried to guess who had walked across our playground. We shared “Emily Brown and the Thing” by Cressida Cowell. We talked about how we would feel at the night time and then how we would feel in the daytime. We talked about being kind to each other. We made our own night time glasses to help us to see in the dark! 🤓🤩 we used our playdough mats to make stars in them sky and also counted the correct amount of stars needed to match the number 🌟
Week beginning 18/01/21 in nursery we shared the story “Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Can you hear?”. We sequenced the pictures of the story, we collaged our own polar bear using cotton wool balls and google eyes and we made our own story hats about the story!
Week beginning 11/01/21 we shared the story “Lost and Found” by Oliver Jeffers. We had our own small world based on the book so that we could retell the story in our own words. We sang the “Five Little Penguins” song and took turns to play “Counting Pip the Penguins Fish” on the interactive whiteboard. We thought about something that we might have lost and drew a picture of it in our busy books. We used our counting skills and measured the size of penguins using the cubes. We made our penguins and igloos too!🐧
