Spellings

Spelling lists for each half term will be stuck into your childs homework book for you to practise with them. However, the traditional spelling test is not an accurate measure of their spelling ability, so will no longer be taking place. Research shows that exploring the spelling rules/patterns is more likely to produce good long-term spelling skills. Please continue to work with your child on their spelling list but also explore other words not necessarily on the list to help broaden vocabulary and gain a good understanding of spelling rules.
