Reading

Children in Year 1 are expected to read at home for at least 10 minutes per day and this should be recorded by an adult in their reading records.

Book bags will be sent home every night and should be returned for the start of every school day. Books will be changed twice a week. 

 

Reading regularly can have a hugely positive effect on children's vocabulary and language skills and is an integral part of their learning! Reading records will be checked regularly in order to ensure pupils are reading at home and a member of staff will read with pupils regularly during school time.
