Monday 13th July 2020

Good morning Nursery! Since March we have all been dealing with a very different school routine and we would like to thank you for all of your continued support throughout these unusual times, we are so proud of you all.  As we begin the last week of school, we are feeling many different emotions because we are not going to be saying goodbye to you as we would have liked to.  You have been a fantastic class to teach and care for in our first year together in Nursery, each and every one of you have brought lots of fun, love and smiles to us both. We will miss you all so much!

As a thank you to you all we have a little present in school for you, which hopefully you can collect this week.  If you would like to contact Miss Miller in the office, to let her know when you are thinking of coming or alternatively email us direct on the Nursery class email.

We hope you all have a well rested and safe Summer and we look forward to seeing you all next door in Reception class!!

Lots of love

This week in school we will be talking about holidays that we might go on or that we might have been on, discussing how we could travel there, what would we take on holiday, who would we go with and what would we do when we got there.  We will be sharing the book Billy's Bucket by Kes Gray and Garry Parsons (there is a link on You Tube- CBeebies Bedtime stories, read by Frank Skinner) and thinking about what we could put in our own bucket.  If you have a bucket at home you could collect five things in your bucket that you could tell a story about (An adult to scribe one story). With your bucket you could go on a hunt in the garden and collect as many things as you can and then count them out with a grown up (to practise your counting skills). Or, see how many balls you can throw into your bucket (if you don't have lots of little balls, you could use rolled up pairs of socks).  Have a checklist to record how many you got into your bucket!

We will then be spending time this week on thinking about our memories in Nursery class with all of our friends, discussing what we have enjoyed the most in Nursery and who we have made friends with etc.

Have fun!!!

Good Morning!  We hope that you have had a restful weekend. Continuing with our Summer Seaside

Vehicle - this week all of our activities are going to be based on the story 'Pirates Love Underpants'. Listen

to the story and talk about your favourite part with your family. Would you like to be a pirate? Why/why not? Claire Freedman and Ben Cort's hilarious addition to the Underpants series is full of pirates, sharks and treasure. Attached is a loose overview for you to have a look at and continue your learning at home.

Have fun!

Welcome back to the children who have joined myself and Miss Cummins in Nursery over the last two weeks. It has been such a joy to see you, we are so proud of how you have adapted to our new routine in Nursery, you are all superstars!!!  We have had lots of fun learning and exploring our Summer and Seaside Curriculum Vehicle.  Most of our learning, story time and play activities will be linked to this in school for the remainder of the Summer term.

For those children that are still at home, we are missing you lots, so please continue to send us photographs and any work that you do, we can update it on our class webpage and on St Anne's Facebook page.  A link is attached below loosely outlining what we will be covering in school this week.  The websites that you have been using for learning at home are still free and active so therefore we encourage you to keep using these to support your child with additional learning at home.

BBC bitesize have put together a selection of resources to support children and parents in readiness for entry to school.  You may find the following materials useful in helping your child get ready for the transition in to Reception Class.

We are available to answer any questions and offer support via the Nursery email, we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as we can, but please bear in mind that we are in class between 8.30 am - 3.00 pm.

Lots of love
