Multi-cultural Week

During the week beginning 6th January, we celebrated Multi-cultural week at St. Anne's. Each class had their own world religion to learn about, Year 3 studied Judaism. 

We learnt that Jewish people visit the Synagogue to worship and read the Torah as their holy book. We created our own stained glass windows, similar to those found in a Synagogue. We also read the story of Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights. 

On Friday we invited the parents into school to create some crafts with us. Children could choose to make; the Star of David, a Jewish calendar wheel, their own Torah scrolls using the Hebrew language or a Hanukkah Dreidel to play Spin the Dreidel. A big thank you to all of the families who attended this event!
