Good morning everyone!
Happy Monday!
Phonics
Go to Google Classroom/Reception/Class works to access your daily phonics lessons for your child's group, for home learning.
The reception key worker children, in school, will access the same phonics lessons, for their particular group, each day.
Supertato by Sue Hendra
Share the story of Supertato.
Ask your child...
How would you describe Supertato?
What adjectives could you use?
(e.g. friendly, kind, helpful, caring, thoughtful)
How does he use his superpowers?
What do you think it means to be friendly/kind etc.?
Ask your child to draw a picture of Supertato and write down some adjectives to describe him.
(encourage independent writing and the use of their phonic skills to start with then write out their describing words so that they can copy underneath your letters)
Maths
R.E.
Remind your child of this morning’s story about Supertato.
Ask the children to think again of their favourite vegetable and then ask your child to make a play-dough model of their favourite healthy food/vegetable.
Encourage your child to draw a picture of their special food/vegetable etc. and write a simple sentence/prayer saying thank you God for...
If you can, have a little family liturgy where your child can share their little prayer of thanks to God.
Healthy Eating and Keeping Well
Talk to your child about how it is important to keep healthy. To eat healthy foods and to exercise. This way we can try and stay healthy and fit and hopefully not get poorly.
In the winter time when it is cold, we can sometimes catch colds, coughs, sore throats and sneezes.
If we look after ourselves we can try to stop ourselves from becoming ill.
Share the power point/pdf about healthy eating and living.
Activity: cut out and stick pictures of food in appropriate sections (health, not so healthy)
