Monday 20th April

Welcome to the Summer Term, I hope you all have had a safe, happy and Holy Easter.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on the class email nursery@st-annes-weepingcross.staffs.sch.uk.  I will be setting work on a daily basis. On Purple Mash I have assigned a tray to each child so that they can save any of their work in there.

RE

In Nursery we would start our day off with our morning prayer time, which I feel is most important especially during these unprecedented times.  Copies of our Nursery class prayers were sent home in book bags.

PE

Wake up and start your day with a workout with Joe Wicks.

Literacy

Today we will share the story "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle.  If you do not have a copy of the book please copy and paste the link below into your web browser to watch the short film.  (The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Animated Film)

After the story ask your child if they can they remember the different foods featured in the story.  Can they draw or paint pictures of the different foods?  Take a photo of your picture or painting and send it to the class email.

Maths

Counting: Invite children to count out the food that the hungry caterpillar eats each weekday.
Ask Children: How many things does he eat on Saturday? How many more things is that than he ate on Friday? Etc.

The children love to sing along to the Days of the Week song on you tube, I am sure this will bring some big smiles to their faces. Copy and paste the following link.

Foundation

Look at the life cycle of a butterfly with your child.

Talk to them about the various stages and if you have time and a printer there is a little activity sheet that you can access on Twinkl.  Maybe you can practise your cutting and glueing skills.
