Good Morning to you all heart

On the last day of the first half of the Summer Term, we would like to thank you for all for your continued love and support.  We have enjoyed all of the emails, photographs and kind words that have been sent to us both, they are all very much appreciated.  Attached is a link called "While We Can't Hug", please share it with each other, we felt it very appropriate during these unprecedented times and its a book that we will most definitely be ordering on its release date.

We hope that you have a fabulous rest during half term. heart

We miss you all so much!!!

Lots of love Mrs Little and Miss Cummins

If you haven’t already done so, complete the handwriting sheet for the letter of the week ‘h’ in your orange phonics books.  Have a go at tracing over the letter first, then try and write the letter ‘h’ on your own.

You also have access to Espresso Discovery Education which has some brilliant phonics games, if you select Foundation and then Phonics.  You will find some initial sounds games and a blending game, if you think your child is ready for blending the sounds they have learnt so far, encourage them to explore this too.

We have attached a link below for Espresso Discovery Education and have listed the login in details below for you to begin exploring, there are lots of wonderful maths activities for you to have a play around with.

Pentecost falls on the Sunday before we head back to school (the 31st May).  Following on from what we have covered this week so far, we thought it would be a nice activity for you to make some flame can use rich tea or digestive biscuits, use red and orange icing to create the flame or you can have a go at making your own from the ingredients below.

To practise your counting skills too you will need to talk about the quantities of ingredients using kitchen scales to help measure.

Please note that this activity can be done at any time to suit you.  If you do make the biscuits, we'd love to see some photographs. wink xx

100g butter

50g caster sugar

175g plain flour

A few drops of vanilla extract

Rolling pin
Biscuit cutter

Baking tray

Preheat the oven to 150°C.

Add butter and sugar in a bowl and mix well until light and fluffy.

Add the vanilla, mix and then add the flour and mix well.

Roll out to about 5mm thick. Cut into circle shapes.

Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Once the biscuits have cooled down decorate with your orange/red icing.
