Friday 19th June
Good morning! Well done for another super week of home learning
This will be our last lesson looking at the book 'Ug: Boy Genius of the Stone Age', thank you for all of the brilliant work I have been sent. Today, look back to the many problems/challenges that Ug has faced in the book. Could you help him with one of his inventions? E.g. trousers, boat, wheel, hot meal. Choose one of the failed inventions to help him with and prepare a presentation to convince a panel of investors that your project has potential. You could watch a Junior Dragons Den episode (linked below) to gather some ideas on how to present your idea. Have you effectively communicated the benefits and purpose of the invention? What does the presentation include that might persuade somebody to invest or support the project? You could write out your speech or record yourself presenting it. Do we have any future entrepreneurs?
Today I would like you to make your own 3D shapes. You could either print, cut and stick a few of the templates below, or you could try some of the challenge cards using straws/lollipop sticks for the edges and blu tac/play dough for the vertices of the shapes.
Check out a Joe Wicks Live PE lesson or a dance routine from Oti Mabuse on YouTube.
Science - Investigate which surfaces reflect light. You will need; a torch, piece of paper, mirror and different types of materials. Follow the instructions on the PowerPoint to test your materials to see if they are reflective and then design your own school bag which includes your chosen material.
