Friday 15th May

Happy Friday! Wishing you all a lovely weekend smiley

English

First, see if somebody in your house can test you on this weeks spellings. Can you get 10/10?

Next, revisit page 3 from yesterday. What could Ug do to persuade his community to try cooked food? Imagine that YOU are Ug. In order to demonstrate the benefits of a wider variety of menu options for their meals, you are going to create a new cooked meal that they could eat. You can be a little anachronistic in your suggestions e.g. take a modern day food item and give it a Stone Age twist, ham and pineapple pizza could become mammoth and apple pizza. Draw your new meal and label it. Remember you REALLY want to eat something new, so include lots of descriptive language to persuade them. I have added an amazing adjectives word mat below to help you. There is also a link to a website to tell you more about Stone Age food.

Do you like my Stone Age pizza below? Would you eat it?

Maths

Complete the worksheet below, continuing to practise reading the time to the nearest 5 minutes. Remember that you can use your clock to help you. The last question is asking you about a clock with roman numerals on, to help you with this I have added a picture of a roman numerals clock below. There is also a video link about roman numerals if you would like to find out more. You will learn more about roman numerals in year 4, we only need to know up to 12 for a clock, but once you know the rules you'll be an expert.
