Autumn Term

Friday 4th December

In Nursery this week we began to learn and understand the meaning of Advent and we made our own Advent wreaths to take home. We shared the story “One Snowy Night” by Nick Butterworth and we were very busy in our mark making skills, number skills and literacy skills.

Friday 27th November - this week we have been learning all about the “Gingerbread Man”. We looked at the sequence of events in the story and acted our own Gingerbread Man story in our role play area.  In maths we carefully counted the correct amount of buttons to match the number on our gingerbread men. We also made our own salt dough gingerbread men, measuring out the ingredients carefully and following the instructions on the recipe! Nicholas is our Star of the Week 🌟 for his super behaviour and always trying his best with his ‘busy jobs’. 👍🏻 

Friday 20th November - We have had so much fun in Nursery this exploring different types of houses. We shared the “Three Little Pigs” we used our puppets! 🐷🐷🐷🐺 to recreate the story. We made our own houses out of straw, sticks and bricks and shared photographs of our own homes. We learnt about people who help us and wrote our own postcards for our families. Hopefully the postman we be delivering them soon!! Joseph is our Star of the Week 🌟 for always lining up beautifully and for trying hard to put his own coat on ☺️

Friday 13th November - in Nursery this week we shared the story “The Gruffalo’s Child”. We used the percussion instruments to make the sounds of the footsteps in the Deep Dark Wood. We looked at the properties of different shapes and made our own oval owl 🦉On Thursday we took part in the two minute silence to help us understand the importance of the day and we made our own Remembrance token to display on our prayer table ❤️ Nina is our Star of the Week for being a kind girl and trying hard to use her big voice ☺️

Friday 6th November 2020 - this week we have used our big voices and shared our weekend news with our friends. We looked at “The Gruffalo” story and listen carefully to all of the rhyming sounds. We made our own Gruffalo faces and using different sized triangles we made a fox 🦊 from the story! On Thursday we explored different fireworks sounds and used the musical instruments to make our own firework sounds, we made our own Catherine Wheels! Jaxson is our Star of the Week 🌟 for always being enthusiastic for his learning each day ☺️

Friday 16th October

This week Nursery have used their senses to explore pumpkins.  They have been learning about squirrels and the foods that they eat.  We also enjoyed using our scissors skills and gave the leaves a haircut.wink

Gabriele was celebrated in assembly this week for always coming into school with a big smile and ready to learn.

Friday 9th October

This week Nursery shared the story 'Owl Babies' .  We have been exploring the autumn season and are beginning to learn about nocturnal animals and birds.

Kingsley has been celebrated as our 'Star of the Week' this week for being a kind and loving friend and a superb role model in our Nursery class.

Friday 2nd October

For our Autumn Curriculum Vehicle we are exploring "All About Me'.  Over the term we will be settling into our new routine in Nursery, getting to know our new friends, using our big voices and talking about our families, the people who love and care for us.  This week we have shared the story "We're Going on a Bear Hunt", we talked about understanding our feelings such as what makes us sad, happy, scared worried.  We made our own binoculars and walked to the "Big Dark Forest" to see if we could find a bear!!  We explored a tough spot in our class using our own senses and imagination and we even took photos of each other using the ipad.
