25th March

Hi Nursery,

I hope you have had a chance to have fun with some of the home learning activities. Here are some more you can explore.

Fun with Phonics

Staying with our sounds   s    a   t

Write each letter on a separate piece of plain paper (A4 size if possible) .  Find a selection of old magazines,

comics or catalogues. Ask your child to try to find pictures of things beginning with each sound, cut them out and place them or stick them around the correct letter to make a phonics collage. If you haven't got any pictures to cut out, perhaps you or an older child could draw little pictures of things beginning with the above sounds that your little one can cut out and use.

Number Fun - Ordering

Choose 10 toys e.g. cars, trains, teddies, dolls.

Number the toys. Point to the numbers (randomly - not in order) and ask your child to tell you each number you point to. Mix them up and ask your child to order them from 1 to 10. If your child struggles with this, write out a number line, as above, that they can use as a resource to support them.
