Hello Year 1 and welcome to another day of home learning. We have had a very quiet classroom this week and have missed you all very much. It has been great to hear that you have been working hard with the tasks that I have been setting and to receive some of this fantastic work through the class email. Be sure to send in some work if you haven't already to year1@st-annes-weepingcross.staffs.sch.uk

Let's start our Friday morning by listening to Lila's penguin poem.

Now let's listen to the chocolate cake story by Michael Rosen. This is one of our class favourites! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BxQLITdOOc

Be sure to tune in to the daily phonics films on the 'Ruth Miskin Training' YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/RuthMiskinTrainingEdu/playlists These will be available from 9:30am every day and are around 10-15 minutes long. You can find a document containing the lesson schedule above.
Read through this wonderful story called 'Here we are' by Oliver Jeffers. Once you have done this, answer the questions using the text and question sheet below.
You will be building on your learning from yesterday with adding by making 10. Follow the steps in the example below for guidance.
Have a go at the challenge and make sure you reflect on your learning to demonstrate your understanding.

Our new Spring curriculum vehicle is called 'Castles and Battles' and you will soon be introduced to a range of learning circulating the topic. To begin with, I would like you to design your own coat of arms! A coat of arms is a unique design that is painted on a shield. This needs to be unique to you, representing things like your hobbies, your personality, your family etc. Feel free to use the template provided.
